Asking for help is one of the hardest things for me to do. I'm very independent, prideful and stubborn. So starting the GoFundMe account took a lot of courage.
On July 21 I injured my back somehow. It just continued to get worse, so bad that I have had to take time off of work, going on my third week to be exact. About a week later I couldn't take the pain any longer so I went to get something for the pain. In the meantime the doctor referred me to a spine specialist. They wanted me to go that same day but it wasn't possible with the amount of pain I was feeling. My back and mental state were done at that point.
I called them the next day and and went in that day to have radiographs performed. They showed that I have a bulging disc in between my L4 and L5. My S1 is not aligned properly with my spine and I have a lot of arthritis in my right hip. My MRI was performed this past Friday (results pending) and they should confirm the specialists findings and if there is any further damage that he was not able to see with radiographs.
The reason we decided to take this step, is because my husband Daniel and I need your help. We can't afford for me to be out of work. Our bills are piling up and there is only so much we can afford. Daniel already works two jobs that consume his time , 17 hours a day 6 days a week. He and I both work very hard but unfortunately everything has been put on him to provide.
I am uncertain at this point as to when I will be able to return to work as a Vet Tech Asst. if at all. My job requires me to lift up to 70lbs or more, bend, restrain and be on my feet for 12+ hours a day. I will need a letter from my doctor giving me the okay to perform my duties at full capacity in order to return to work. And at this point the doctor advises not returning until we find out what treatments I will need and if I will need surgery.
I know there are so many others out there who's situation is far worse then what we are having to face, but it doesn't mean that it is easy or not important. Anything donated will be greatly appreciated. We are only asking for you to consider our current situation and our need for help.
God Bless each and every one of you. We are grateful and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Many Blessings,
Megan and Daniel Liley
