Hi,
I wanted to reach out and let you know I am raising funds for the men and women on the Engine 17-Pacific Valley Station and Engine 16-Nacimiento Station of Los Padres National Forest.
On September 8, 2020
A Shelter Deployment happened involving fifteen firefighters from the Dolan Fire, in the vicinity of Nacimiento Station. These dedicated firefighters received injuries including burns and smoke inhalation while defending the Nacimiento Station on Dolan Fire on the Los Padres National Forest in California. There station was destoryed. 3 were sent to area hospitals and one is still in the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the firefighters, family, friends, and co-workers. Along with the station being destroyed, barracks where they had personal belongings and many personal vehicles were also destroyed.
They need some help and I am a wife of a Los Padres Firefighter who has been at his side for 19 years. I do not know these men and women personally but my husband has worked with some for years on the same forest. Thankfully he connected me to some of them so I can help.
As another local fire wife said, "This is one of those times where prayers and thoughts just are not enough". Even though those are always needed and welcomed, this is our local forest and we want to help. That's what a Fire Family is all about!!
So I am taking it a bit further and asking for your help. We need to get these men and women immediate help for car deductibles to all the extra things that come with this kind of event that I don't even want to imagine. Some lost all their belongings being that they lived in the barracks at the station. The money will be disbursed personally by me to each individual in need via check or bank transfer.
If you could also share the GoFundMe link with your friends, it would mean so much. The more people hear about this, the quicker we can reach our goal.
With love on behalf of these brave men and woman, I thank you for anything you can do to help. Also, if you have a fire patch you would like to donate please let me know as their was a collection destroyed in the station that was from years of firefighting.
Thank you,
Angela Kendrick
