Help A College Gamer Get A Gaming Laptop

Ever since my older cousin introduced me to it, gaming has been a big part of my life. I was fascinated watching him play on the big screen, pressing buttons and pulling off cool moves. Since then, I begged my parents for my own console. In middle school, I finally got a PS3, and gaming quickly became my favorite hobby.

Now as a college student, gaming is still my go-to way to relax and connect with friends—especially online. It helps me manage stress and my mental health, which has been a challenge at times. My support system, which includes my friends, family, boyfriend (and a bit of therapy), has made a huge difference. But gaming has always been a unique outlet that helps me breathe, feel joy, and have fun when things get tough.

Lately, I’ve gotten really into a game called R.E.P.O. At first, my laptop could handle it, but recently I’ve been dealing with lag spikes that make it hard to enjoy. My current laptop is mainly for school and can’t keep up with bigger games, so sometimes I miss out on playing or fully enjoying games with my online friends. I’d love to keep connecting with them and enjoying the games we love—but the technical issues keep getting in the way.

So I’m hoping to raise funds toward a gaming laptop and maybe a few accessories if possible. With a better setup, I can keep up with my friends and enjoy my favorite hobby without frustration.

I’m also saving on my own, but as a college student, I don’t earn much even with a part-time job. Most of what I make goes toward tuition and fees as I work toward my degree in Elementary & Special Education (B.S.). I don’t like asking too much of my parents, since they have their own responsibilities, and I’ve been trying to become more independent since starting college.
