Today at 2:46am my mom passed away. She didn't have any life insurance and I am trying to give her a proper service that she deserves. My mom just like Rocky went 15 rounds with cancer. She fought so hard and amazed many doctors that she had surpassed everyone's expectations of how long she would live. My brother and I fought so hard for her. We tried for months to get her transfered to another accepting hospital but no one would take her in her condition. This hospital gave up on her. To the point which I begged them to change her bandages and they wouldn't for days, until maggots started to grow in her neck wound. Then Friday she had pulled her ng feeding tube out by accident and they would not reinsert it. Even though my mom had a living will and was a full code to be kept alive. My brother filed a 44 page petition to get an emergency hearing with the judge. To the point where the judge signed a court order making them give my mom an iv. After 3 days without any fluids or meds. We finally got them to put an iv for hydration yesterday and this morning her heart stopped. We have spent everyday at the hospital 11-1&3-6 since she was admitted not missing any full day for 3 months. The hospital served us Friday with a no trespassing notice and still won't let us see our mom. No one should have to go through all of these processes just to respect the wishes of a loved one.
