Hello family & friends,
This new year has been challenging, but God has continually proven himself to be merciful and faithful! Our family is so appreciative for all of the prayers, love, and financial support given to Dad for his current needs.
After talking to numerous people (doctors, nurses, social worker and Department of Aging), our family decided to move Dad into an Assisted Living Facility and Memory Care Facility. Dad's particular facility has certified workers that are trained and experienced in working with individuals that are living with Dementia and Alzheimer's. The workers are kind, compassionate and patient. It is an answered pray to have Dad taken care of by loving staff. We are so blessed!
His new home is a God send! It is in a safe & secure gated community. The community is smaller than most, but it is pleasant and feels like home. It has a calm, peaceful environment that welcomes you as soon as you walk through the door. It also has memory care, regular scheduled activities throughout the day, daily exercise, a beautiful patio with a fountain and holiday celebrations. We truly believe that it is the perfect fit for Dad. He is happy with his new home!
Family & friends, even though Dad has moved into his new facility, we still need to raise $20,000. I know this is a large amount, but between the hospital bills, the ambulance bills, the prescription & medical equipment costs and the rent that we have to pay out of pocket (until the Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver kicks in), Dads bills and living costs keep adding up. Please continue to pray with our family that Dad completely recovers from COVID!! Pray that his lungs are healed, that he feels God's presences & peace during the time of isolation…and that the Lord provides our family with all of the financial resources needed for the care of Dad.
How can you help? Please continue to pray and give, if possible. We need finances to pay for the memory care facility because insurance does NOT cover it. Rent for his facility is considered "private pay." We need the Lord to work a miracle in the area of finances because his rent is $1,300 above our monthly budget. It has become a financial burden to our family because my father has no assets, retirement fund or savings account. After his massive stroke we had to sell what we could to pay his medical bills.
