Pedals And Togs (P. A. T.) on the Wild Atlantic Way is a 2500km /1500 mile cycle and swim in aid of Innishowen Children's Autism Related Education(i.C. A. R. E).
iCARE, a registered charity, that provides a number of services for families dealing with autism including day respite and activity Centre at their prefab centre at Ballymacarry, Buncrana Co Donegal.
They can not function without support from the community.
My story from painting to a sponsored cycle for i.C.A.R.E
Last year a friend of mine invited me give a hand and help paint the facilities at iCARE. During the couple of days painting I witnessed the amazing parents and volunteers working with amazing children and young people with autism but more than witnessing, I could feel the remarkable caring, understanding and love provided at the centre. The painting was very easy. My couple of days painting were a humbling experience.
At this time I was looking at a a few travel options, trip to India stuff and woodstock stuff. Nothing in Ireland had entered the radar. The simple truth is one morning when I awoke the idea of Cycling the Wild Atlantic Way was planted in my mind. It was like catchy song that wouldn't go stop playing. I cant explain where it came from but there it was, cycling the Wild Atlantic Way in aid of i. C.A.R.E.
Well, some things just have to be done !
My cycle is self funded, there is not cost or expense.
100% of monies received will go to i.C.A.R.E
