Hi, my name is Jennifer.

A very close friend of mine, Kay, has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. As you can imagine, this has had a huge impact on her and her family — emotionally, physically, and financially.

Kay is currently undergoing intensive, life-saving treatment. This includes chemotherapy followed by five weeks of daily radiotherapy alongside further chemotherapy, all while trying to keep her home running and care for her children three under the age of four. She is facing an incredibly tough journey with so much strength.

I’ve decided to take on a personal challenge to support her — in July, I will be cycling 25 miles to raise as much money as possible. I’m not exactly an experienced cyclist, so this will definitely be a challenge for me (expect a few grazed knees and elbows along the way! ).

My goal is to raise funds to help ease some of the financial pressure on Kay and her family, and hopefully give them something special to look forward to once her treatment finishes in August — a chance to get away together, rest, and make some beautiful memories after everything they’ve been through.

Any money raised will be shared between Kay and Cancer Research UK.
