Update: Jordan Anthony Moorer passed away on Friday, May 12th. The Moorer family would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions and words of encouragement. My friend Karen has a beautiful family and recently her 24 year old son was suddenly diagnosed with brain cancer. Obviously, this is devastating news for any mother and family. Her son, Jordan Anthony Moorer, graduated college at 23 years old and landed his first job. He was working throughout the summer from home and thought his frequent headaches were brought on from screen usage due to his new job. He was ready to start the life he had worked hard to earn as a good student when suddenly, at Thanksgiving Dinner, his mom Karen realized his eyes were crossing in an odd manner and he didn’t even notice.

They went to the ER and ended up discovering this terrible news and spending the next 4 months in the hospital. He lost his ability to walk and speak. Thankfully, Jordan has regained a little of his ability to speak and he has started to move one of his legs. After 4 months at the hospital, doctors determined Jordan could go home with his family.

The family is currently caring for Jordan on their own 24 hours a day by taking shifts and of course, this is not only taking a physical toll on everyone but also has financial implications. Karen and her husband want to give Jordan the best possible chance at recovery and are looking to self fund any physical therapy they can as well as look for 24 hour nursing care to make sure his meds and feeding bags are properly administered.

Please help in supporting Jordan and his family through this extremely difficult time and send your thoughts and prayers for Jordan’s recovery. Every little bit of help counts and will alleviate some of the stress and burden this wonderful, caring family is going through. I was compelled to create this page because I know that Karen is the type of person that would help anyone else in need. Let’s help Karen and her family in their time of need and hope it is repaid tenfold in Jordan’s life and wellness.
