Hi friends and family♥️
Rip and I have a few very scary days here. 3am on Monday morning I woke upto Ripley shaking and panting and rigid. She was experiencing a seizure that didn't stop until they medicated her 30 minutes later at the 24 hour emergency pet clinic. After they gave her sedatives she had 4 more small seizures which they found very worrisome. They had a toxin specialist come in, took blood tests and eventually did an MRI and spinal tap. I've been able to see her a number times which has been wonderful and painful and scary.
As more time passes the potential diagnosis' have gotten worse. The found something in the MRI which could be cancer, infectious disease or an auto-immune disease. They're treating her for the autoimmune disease as it is the most likely cause and they don't want to wait to start treatment. I'm going to find out more today and tomorrow. The vet (who is an angel) layers out 3 possible outcomes of this disease: 1/3 of dogs recover completely, 1/3 of dogs respond to meds but relapse within the next year. 1/3 never respond to meds and do not make it. What's crazy is that we should know what her outcome will be by tomorrow and Friday.
This is the scariest most painful experience I've been presented in life. If you know me and know rip you know we've saved each other. She's been pivotal in my recovery from alcohol and was what kept me around before I got sober. We've been through so much and she is truly my companion, soul sister and best friend.
Less then 24 hours after I brought her in the bill had reached almost $7000 which I don't have. I'll do anything it takes to get her the best possible treatment there is...
And I could use a little help. I don't know how much longer she'll be with me but I know that her life has been full of love and balls and food. It's likely I'll need to take time off to take care of her is all goes well- anything you can spare will help us out huge and if the money's not there you love and support and prayers are hugely appreciated too. Love and light to all living things.
