24-Year Old Full of Life Battling Cancer

English: Hello my name is Anazoila Contreras. I am planning this fundraiser on behalf of my husband Israel Santos for his 24-year-old brother Gregorio Santos JR. Greg is full of life and has been battling cancer since September of 2023. Greg has always had a rough health history since he was born undergoing surgery right away because he was born with twisted intestines. Greg was first diagnosed with testicular cancer which then developed to germ cell cancer in the lungs. Those types of cancer required immediate chemotherapy; that started in October of 2023 and ended in December of 2023. During that time Greg felt like a completely different person, he began to lose all his hair and developed changes in his body that he found hard to accept and made him feel numb. Has to take lots of medicine daily and lives in Holiday,Florida which is an hour away from the hospital he receives treatment in. Costs have started to add up to the point that it's hard to keep up with, the family continues to work hard but it still isn't enough to cover the costs. On Friday January 12th of 2024 Greg went unresponsive and had a seizure at home whom his strong mother had to witness, they called 911 and transferred him to the nearby hospital where he had two more seizures. At the hospital they did a CT scan of the head to make sure it wasn't damaged and they unfortunately found a mass in his frontal left lobe. The hospital made sure to stabilize him and transferred him to his treatment hospital in Tampa General. In that hospital they did an MRI and in more detail unfortunately found out it was the same cancer as in the lungs Germ Cell that traveled to the brain. There is no medication or chemotherapy strong enough to help with the tumor in the brain, instead a group of physicians met and they determined the best thing to do is do an open head surgery to remove the cancerous tumor this Wednesday January 17th of 2024. This is a rough time for this family and Greg wants to continue to fight. I ask all of you to please take the time to consider helping this family. We greatly appreciate it. All funds will go to Gregorio and his mom as she cannot drive and needs to travel to see her son and is missing work which she is not getting paid for. Spanish: Hola mi nombre es Anazoila Contreras. Estoy planeando esta recaudación de fondos de parte de mi esposo Israel Santos para su hermano Gregorio Santos JR de 24 años. Greg está lleno de vida y ha estado luchando contra el cáncer desde septiembre de 2023. Greg siempre ha tenido un historial de salud difícil desde que nació y fue operado de inmediato porque nació con los intestinos torcidos. A Greg le diagnosticaron por primera vez cáncer testicular que luego se convirtió en cáncer de células germinales en los pulmones. Esos tipos de cáncer requerían quimioterapia inmediata; la quimioterapia comenzó en octubre de 2023 y terminó en diciembre de 2023. Durante ese tiempo Greg se sintió como una persona completamente diferente, comenzó a perder todo el cabello y desarrolló cambios en su cuerpo que le resultaba difícil de aceptar y lo hacían sentir entumecido. Tiene que tomar muchos medicamentos a diario y vive en Holiday, Florida, que está a una hora del hospital donde recibe tratamiento. Los costos han comenzado a aumentar hasta el punto que es difícil mantenerse al día, la familia continúa trabajando duro pero todavía no es suficiente para cubrir los costos. El viernes 12 de enero de 2024, Greg quedó inconsciente y tuvo una convulsión en casa que su fuerte madre tuvo que presenciar, llamaron al 911 y lo trasladaron al hospital cercano donde tuvo dos convulsiones más. En el hospital le hicieron una tomografía computarizada de la cabeza para asegurarse de que no estuviera dañada y lamentablemente encontraron una masa en el lóbulo frontal izquierdo. El hospital se aseguró de estabilizarlo y lo trasladó a su hospital de tratamiento en Tampa General. En ese hospital le hicieron una resonancia magnética y con más detalle lamentablemente descubrieron que era el mismo cáncer que en los pulmones Célula Germinal y ahora esta en el cerebro. No existe medicamento ni quimioterapia lo suficientemente fuerte para ayudar con el tumor en el cerebro, en cambio un grupo de médicos se reunieron y determinaron que lo mejor que se podía hacer es realizar una cirugía de cabeza abierta para extirpar el tumor canceroso este miércoles 17 de enero de 2024. Es un momento difícil para esta familia y Greg quiere seguir luchando. Les pido a todos que se tomen el tiempo para considerar ayudar a esta familia. Lo apreciamos mucho. Todos los fondos se destinarán a Gregorio y su madre, ya que ella no puede conducir y necesita viajar para ver a su hijo y falta a un trabajo por el que no le pagan.
