My name is Anita. I am a single mother of a 36 yr old son who has special needs. He has fragile X syndrome.
On May 1, 2024 my landlord informed me that they are selling the property in which we rent an apartment. We have been living here for 4 yrs. I created this fund as I need help. I need to raise money to move out. I know my goal of 9k may seem like lot and it is, but broker fees, deposits, security & moving is expensive. I have no financial means to move. I do my best to make life for my son as easy going & comfortable as I possibly can. But it is really hard. Justin whom I call “Pops” actually sees me as his “SuperMom”. But when unexpected financial hardships occur and when you’re on your own, you don’t feel much like a “SuperMom”.
I am disabled from a neck/back injury I sustained 15 yrs ago. I was a paralegal for about 16 yrs but due to my injuries, my doctor declared me disabled. We live solely on supplemental disability. The burden of household expenses, bills, car insurance/car note, gas, food, clothing, toiletries, misc, etc,. it is just not possible to save money much less to have money available for any unexpected occurrences like moving expenses.
It certainly is not easy to ask for help as it is humbling. Many would feel it’s embarrassing or they may have too much pride to ask. But it’s not a time to be embarrassed or prideful. I have a special needs son to think about. If I don’t at least try and ask for help, I won’t get it.
I am a woman who serves the Lord. My faith tells me he can move mountains. He can make things possible. He can use anyone to help someone. His ways are always made perfect and what is best for us despite that in the moment, one may not see it as so. My prayer is that whoever buys this property would let me stay. But only God knows the outcome. I have to be prepared.
