PSWC Baby Raccoon Nursery

South Sound Critter Care is the only licensed general wildlife center located in King County, Washington.  We are dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and release of orphaned and injured wildlife.  We serve the two most populated counties in our state.  Because of that, the demand for raccoon rehabilitation is also the largest in the state.

In 2017 we received 74 raccoons.  In 2016, we received 77 raccoons.   Every year we have to turn some away, but this year we are hoping that by building a new nursery we can care for every animal.  These manmals are by far the most expensive to rehabilitate, an average baby costing approximately $750 each for food, vaccines and care alone.

All wildlife work is done without charge, but we rely heavily on donations from donors like you to operate. Each year the number of animals we take in rises,  As the baby raccoons begin to come into the center we have an urgent need to build a new, larger raccoon nursery, which should house about 40 kits.

All funds will be used to build a new  habitat with a portion of the money going toward site grading, which requires hiring someone with a grader.

We hope to have this operational and available by May 15 of 2018.

The overall habitat is 24'X48' with four sections.

Each section has several wonderful features.

Thank you for any donation you can provide to help us continue to serve the animals who so depearately need us.
