Burnham Family Flood

Hi my name is Elizabeth Burnham and my home was flooded on April 18. My beautiful house which I moved into a little over a year ago recieved extensive damage. Both mine, my son, and my boyfriend Kenneth's car were also destroyed in the flood. Our insurance isn't enough to pay the diference between what we owe and what the cars are worth. So we are under water, both literally and figuratively.  When the water came inside the house 2' deep it caused massive damage throughout. All of my furniture including the refrigerator and possibly some other appliances were lost. My house was not covered by flood insurance so all of the expense of repair and replacement will be coming straight out of our pockets. To put it mildly we are in trouble. Both of us are already hurting from out of pocket expenses and we don't know where the money will come from to get our lives back to where it was.


We are both so grateful to be alive. We, along with my 2 beautiful children and furry frieinds survived the ordeal of watching the water rise, not knowing where it would stop. We realize these are just things and we will survive no matter what, but we could use a little help. It's almost summer and we want to continue the tradition started last summer of having our friends and family come around on a Sunday afternoon and celebrate sunny days.
