For my wonderful little girl Sporty

Hello my name is Kimberly and I am the mother of a beautiful parrot named Sporty. Recently, I noticed my girl didn’t seem like her usual happy self, and I could tell something was wrong. I brought her to an avian vet as soon as possible. The vet told me that Sporty’s red blood cell count was at 10 (the normal value is 50, but if it goes down to 20, a blood transfusion is required). They told me that she was barely alive and using all her remaining energy to keep her organs functioning. When the vet told me she may pass away, I immediately broke down in tears. Sporty is a member of my family and I love her like she’s my own baby, even though I’ve only had her for 2 years. Sporty came into my life during a rough time. I lost my baby brother and it left my family feeling lost and hurt. When my father and I heard she needed a home, I took her in without hesitation. I immediately fell in love with her when she looked at me and chirped a hesitant “hello?” To be honest, she did not like me at first but I started researching how to take care of her and contacted her previous owner to ask about how she had her set up. One day she perched on my shoulder and let me give her some head scratches, and that’s when I knew my hard work paid off. Sporty took all of my pain and turned it into love and happiness. She encouraged me to keep going and not give up on life. I care about her a great deal and she saved my life, therefore I must try and save her too. All I want is for her to be healthy and safe again. 100% of the profits made will fund the medical procedures she must endure. I am currently working 2 jobs and am grateful for any assistance.
