My name is Susan Stroh and I am asking you to support a family who has become my family. If you know Kim and Dan Barfield, you know they are always the first ones to help in any situation. Now they are in need of help.

At 11:27 a.m., on Sunday, May 15, 2016, a St. Louis woman, who has not provided any proof of insurance, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta west on Hwy. 30, The Jetta crossed the center line and struck the Barfield's eastbound van head-on, as reported by the highway patrol.
Danny and Kim were seriously hurt. Their 1 year old granddaughter was also in the van and thanks to the angels above and a good car seat, sustained moderate injuries.
Danny and the Barfield's granddaughter were taken to a Medical Center in south St. Louis County by ambulance. Kim Barfield had to be extracted from the vehicle was taken by helicopter to to a trauma center. The family is separated by hospitals and injuries. Kim was taken to the ICU and placed on a ventillator and their kids each went to one parent's bedside. Prayers, pleadings and broken hearts were sent for Kim's survival and Danny and their granddaughter's recovery.
The highway patrol arrested the two from the car that hit the Barfield's while they were at the hospital, according to the crash report. The woman was arrested for alleged second-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance, and the man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, according to the report.
Danny is a self-employed mechanic and will not have any income during his recovery. Kim is the City Clerk in Pacific, MO. As I said, the driver of the other vehcile has not shown proof of any insurance. The gofundme funds will be used to offset medical bills and lost wages.
