Larry Nelles

Many of you know him as a legendary ski competitor and coach for team Canada, master horseman, horse trainer but to us he is a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and living legend to all of his friends around the world. More recently he has had to put aside all of his other proud titles due to a stroke that has left him immobile and requiring additional care. Unfortunately the medical coverage has run its course and we are reaching out for assistance and support as we transition to long-term care to make things more comfortable for Larry.

Louise (Larry’s wife) is overwhelmed with the amount of love and support given by everyone we know, this has been an extremely challenging time for two seniors living with the effects of a stroke that took place on September 20, 2023.

As many of you who know Larry have seen, his resilience, strength and dedication for improvement are strong. As we are witnessing him in such a weak state, we are praying that we can get through this with the ongoing support of all the people who have crossed paths with him in the past 84 years.

We have created this go fund me to support Larry’s rehabilitation, care and medical costs, every donation is greatly appreciated during these hard times.

We would love for everyone to share a story in the comments of how you met Larry so we can share with him and uplift his spirits and remind him what he is fighting for. This is just the beginning of a long journey of recovery.
