Moving for Medical School
Donation protected
Seven years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey toward a goal of becoming a physician. This path started by taking a single class at a community college in Houston, TX, and continued to flourish by graduating with high honors at the University at Albany in 2014. Last fall, I had the privilege of holding acceptances to multiple medical colleges, a feat achieved by less than 5% of all applicants ( I would venture a guess to say I am the only married father of three in the group). I am pleased to announce that this fall, I will be attending Kansas City University, Class of 2020!
Whitney and I have been planning and saving for this journey for months. Moving our incredible family 1,500 miles is the final hurdle to clear. As we stand on the precipice of the greatest challenge we have faced, we find ourselves a bit short of our goal.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 to support the cost of the physical move from New York to Missouri. Included in this figure is the cost of a moving truck, fuel for the truck and our vehicles, and general travel expenses related to moving the family. I know this figure seems large, but moving with 3 kids under the age of 8 has a special set of challeneges (lots of extra potty breaks, snacks, dinners, etc).
Whitney and I would be so appreciative for any help in reaching our goal. Each contribution literally brings us closer to the opportnuinty to save lives in the future.
