I am not one who asks or accepts help however I feel this is the only hope I have left. My son Stephen gained his wings Monday Aug 24 at the age of 30. Stephen suffered from anxiety, bipolar, and drugs most of his teenage and adult life however neither of these took away from the big heart he had. Stephen had even gone to schools and talked to adolescents about the struggles he faced every day. He was always wanting others to do better than the life he led. The nightmare no mother should endure began Monday July 27, Stephen was picked up from my residence in Jackson by Matt Naab someone he considered a friend around 7pm. When I woke up on the morning of the 28th Stephen had not returned home which I thought nothing of it at this point as my son was 30 and maybe he crashed somewhere and would be home later. It wasnt until Wednesday the 29th when I started to feel there was just something not right, I hadnt heard from my son in almost two whole days with many unsucessful attempts to get a hold of him this was not the behavior Stephen has ever previously had if he didnt answer my calls I would at least receive a text letting me know at least he was okay. Unfortunately I didnt even receive a text this time. I knew in my heart something was wrong so I contacted the Jackson police to report him as a missing person. When the detective showed up to my house to take my statement at this point they didnt feel there was much they could do because he was 30 and it wasnt out of the ordinary for a man his age not to come home for a couple nights. Stephens sister Amanda was able to access his facebook and while looking through messages she discovered that he had exchanged messages with Matt on the 27th talking about going to Milwaukee to purchase some drugs. I informed the police of these messages and Stephens history with drugs. They told me to keep them posted if I happened to hear from him or have any additonal information. At this time they went to visit Matt and questioned him if he knew of Stephens where abouts he denied hanging out with Stephen. During this time Matt was taken into custody due to an arrest warrant associated to a previous incident (not related to Stephen) Soon after the Jackson detective reached out to me and requested copies of the messages off of Stepehens facebook between him at Matt. On Aug 1st detectives questioned Matt once again about any involvment with Stephen on July 27th he then admitted that he did pick him up around 7pm but dropped him off around 4am July 28th at the Jackson Station. The detectives took this information and searched hours of surveilence at the Jackson station between the hours of 12am-5am and again learned that Matt lied there were no signs of Matt, his dads truck, or Stephen on those cameras. On Aug 6th the detectives questioned Matts father who was the owner of the vehicle Matt was driving the night of July 27th. He informed the detectives that his son did not return home until July 28th at 2pm. This vehicle was taken in for possible evidence. I went days with no updates it felt like my whole world was crashing upon me. After many many hours, days, and weeks of investigation detectives had enough evidence to stop looking for a missing person and start looking for my sons remains. On Aug 24 the detectives made their last trip to question Matt and this time they were now asking where they can look for my sons remains Matt replied "hypothetically if I was looking for him, I would look for him on W" Matt was then handed a google map of hwy W in Allenton and circled the area of where he left Stephen the afternoon of July 28th. Matt then stated to the detectives "you guys are right, I freaked out." Matt stated that he thought Stephen was sleeping until he went to wake him up and he wouldn't wake up. At this point Matt was arrested for involvement of my sons death. During this time they released information they gathered that led to this arrest. These details are as follows:

1. Stephens debit card was used numerous times on July 27 and 28

2. On July 27 at 1031pm Stephens debit card was used at an ATM in Milwaukee but a wrong PIN was entered the transaction was declined

3. On July 27 at 1034pm a phone call from Matts phone was made to Land Mark Credit Union Membership Services Line to change Stephens pin on his debit card

4. Matt then took his debit card to another ATM and drained his account

5. Stephen was located on each of these surveilence cameras the first he was spotted hunched over in the passenger seat twitching moving in a manner consistent with agonal breathing. All other surveilences Stephen was seen in the same position however no longer moving

This man Matt Naab failed to seek medical attention for my son he watched him struggle while he took his last breath after he decided to rob my son took it to the level of changing his pin number then continued to drive around with him for 13 hours before he selfishly disposed of his body in a wooded area to be left in the heat for weeks 28 days total which led him to also steal the closure that I his mother deserved. I am left with never being able to see my son hear his voice or just give him one more hug. I am now left in a position where I at this time can not lay my son to rest his body what is left is being held for 100% identification and it can take up to 6 months or longer before I may even have this opportunity. This is not the end I also have the court dates that could take a year before justice is served for my son. Matt Naab is being charge for two felonies hiding a corpse and misappropriation of ID he also faces mistermeanors of resisting/obstructing an officer and bail jumping. His first initial appearance was last Friday Sept 4 my family attended and this sick son of b***h had the nerve to turn around and look our way. His next court date is Oct 7th and he will have many more to follow as I will keep everyone updated.
