Hard Cash for Our Tough Ash...lee

Donation protected
Many of you know that one of our Naugatuck families is in need of support. Nelson and Ashlee Alves have been students of Maple Hill, Cross Street and City Hill. Their mother Christina Alves has been a paraprofessional in the district, most recently at Hillside. Ashlee is confined to a wheelchair as a result of cerebral palsy. Her mother Christina has recently suffered from eosinophilic pneumonia which makes breathing very hard for her. They have a split level home and Christina has carried Ashlee up and down stairs for years. As Ashlee has gotten older this has become much more difficult and with her own recent diagnosis it has become almost impossible. She's lucky to have more big helpers in  her brother, Nelson, and dad, Manuel (Tony). Our hope is to raise enough money to help with recent bills and hopefully with a wheelchair lift to support the family and their everyday needs.

Ashlee does everything and anything she can. She is involved in track and field as well as basketball with the Hospital of Special Care. She loves listening to music and singing right along. Now and then you will see her catching up on new cover videos of Matty B. Recently a video was passed around of her trying to walk with supports. Amazing!

The family is already grateful for people just asking how they can help and will use any funds to better their everyday needs when raising a wheel-chair bound child.
