CZU Lightning Complex Fire recovery

Hello our friends and family. Most of you know we live in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in Boulder Creek. We were evacuated on August 18th. The CZU Lightning Complex Fire was threatening our entire mountain. It was terrifying running from the fire as the flames roared across the mountainside. We stayed in our car the first night in an abandoned Kmart parking lot alongside at least 100 other evacuees. We eventually made it to an evacuation encampment where we stayed in a tent for 12 days, with our 3 dogs and whatever possessions we could grab in the 20 minutes we had during evacuation. We have been in a hotel now, for about 8 days. We drove up to Boulder Creek last week and stopped to talk to some firefighters. They looked tired and defeated. They told us to go to our house and take what we could in 15 minutes because there was no way they could save our neighborhood. The fire was burning too hot and they didn’t have enough manpower. We left our home thinking we would never see it again. It was so Smokey that it was really hard to breathe. We went home to see our house today, we are still in the the red zone and not allowed to enter, but we needed to see what we are dealing with. Our neighborhood was saved by those firemen, from Los Angeles. Our front yard is a mess, Ash and tree branches everywhere. In the house reeks like smoke and dead animal. Our refrigerator is destroyed. Rotting food, fish... It is not salvageable. We pulled it into the front yard and we emptied it into the trash wearing respirators. Our walls and furniture have severe smoke damage. We need to get the entire perimeter of the house cleared. Our beds and furniture and clothes all have smoke and food rot smell. In the backyard, we have about 30 trees that need to be inspected by Davey Tree before we can come home. All the trees up to our backyard fence are burned. The fire was stopped about 20 ft from our back deck. We are gonna be out of our house for a very long time. We have no power and our entire valley has toxic water, you can’t shower or wash your hands. We need some help if you are in a situation to help us.
