Hey y’all,
I’m Zola, most know me as a Black Trans Artist & Organizer within Chicago.
Recently I finished my 4th year at Columbia College Chicago on track fo graduate in the spring of 2020, which just so happened to culminate with the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, 2 of my instructors dealt me failing grades for the semester based upon lack of participation and attendance during the semester. During the impetus of the quarantine my mental health began to decline rapidly and impede on my ability to attend online classes as I was battling intense feels of depression and hopelessness. After attempting to explain my situation to my instructors, and being met with apathy I finally concluded that I simply must retake the classes required to attain my degree from this institution.
Unfortunately I have not been able to pay the balance on the spring semester which prevents me from registering for classes. I would pay for these expenses myself, but I haven’t been paid Unemployment benefits for the last 2 months which also is jeopardizing my housing consequentially. I truly need monetary assistance to afford tuition and supplies for this semester, the remaining balance of the prior, and to maintain stable housing as well.
Anything you can possibly give truly means the world and is so greatly appreciated.
Peace, Love, Empathy.
Zola.
