Michaela's First Mission Trip

Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Michaela Sciandra, I'm 16 years old, and a sophomore attending Osceola Fundamental High school. As you all know this is an important time in life regarding paving a road towards a successful future. I have been asked numerous times what I want to do career wise, what college I want to attend, what do I plan to major in etc,. Honestly, I haven’t the slightest idea, but as I am getting older it's definitely something I need to be thinking about. Starting at a very young age I have grown a desire to travel the world and even more specifically serve people while doing so. Even more so recently I feel that God has put on my heart to open up the idea of doing missions work. The more I have thought about it, the more I have realized how it would be something that I would absolutely love doing. My father and I started to have more serious conversations about it and have discovered some opportunities to do missions work for longer periods of time after high school. Yes, college is still something that I plan on pursuing, but taking possibly 6 months to a year off to serve people and travel the world is something I feel like I'm being led to do.
This leads me to why I am sending this to you in the first place. This summer Countryside Christian's youth group is going on a mission’s trip to the Dominican Republic, and I have been granted the opportunity to go! It is fairly short from July 14th- 19th, but God can make a lot happen within 120 hours. This trip is going to help me with decisions in the future to see if this is something I want to seriously pursue. Although, my purpose will be helping other people, I feel like I will be gaining so much more in return. I am reaching out to you, my family and friends to help make this a reality. It would be greatly appreciated to receive donations, any amount will help tremendously.
