Outdoor Education at BrewsterPierce

Brewster-Pierce Memorial School was awarded a mini-grant from The Four Winds Institute to build an outdoor classroom.  Building Heritage and Bellwether Craftsmen, two local builders, have agreed to build the classroom at no cost to the school.  And we are reaching out to other area businesses to see what else might be donated.  Even with all this generosity, we need to raise money to pay for all the materials that will be required. 

As a parent of a BPMS student, and volunteer for the Four Winds program at Brewster-Pierce, I have seen first-hand how excited and engaged student get when learning outside.  I believe hands-on, experiential learning is incredibly important for our children.  And Brewster-Pierce can be a leader in outdoor education with the construction of this outdoor classroom.

Our fundraising goal is $8,000.  With such a fundraising effort we should be able to pay for the vast majority of the materials needed.  If we are lucky enough to exceed this goal, funds would also go towards offsetting the labor costs incurred by the generous builders.
