Hello, I'm Jamie.
During this Halloween season, I'm asking for your support to help raise awareness for a great little, local charity that helps so many people cope in their darkest of times.

My beautiful wife, Ruth, has experienced a horrendous time over this last year. Which has not only impacted Ruth and I, it has had a profound effect on our family also.
On the 30th of December 2025, after a night-time call to the emergency services and a swift journey to A&E. Where upon urgent scans took place. We were blindsided with the news that my wife had not been suffering with a supposed trap nerve for months on end, which she had been told by health professionals. But in fact was actually revealed that she had been suffering with a metastatis of previous Breast Cancer, making this now a devastatingly Stage 4 diagnosis.

She was immediately immobilized to prevent paralysis and rushed to Sheffield Northern General hospital to see surgeons after being informed that the tumour was around her C6 and C7 Vertebrae and compressing her spinal cord. What followed, was an emergency 9-hour lifesaving operation, that was complex, risky and required a blood transfusion, to replace these Vertebrae with a cage plate and pins to stabilise the area.

After a short recovery from the operation Ruth began further treatment. Initially Radiotherapy and then 18 weeks of Chemotherapy which have been incredibly gruelling on her.

With further ongoing treatment and monitoring for the foreseeable future we’d like to help give something back.

The phenomenal team at Barnsley Hospital's Chemotherapy Unit, Ward 24, have been nothing short of amazing! They have been incredibly supportive to Ruth and our family, which has made treatment days for her so much more tolerable. They also made us aware of Little Fox’s Charity.

This Charity help Cancer patients cope with day to day living by assisting with the following:

Financial Support: Helps individuals and families with limited income after a cancer diagnosis.
Practical Aid: Provides funds for utility bills, shopping vouchers, wigs, holidays, and complimentary therapies.
Hospital Support: Often raises funds to benefit local cancer and chemotherapy care, such as Ward 24 at Barnsley Hospital.

In our spare time Ruth and I are Paranormal Investigators as "Paranormal TRuth".
We have been doing this for a number of years now and really enjoy visiting various locations that have a haunted History.

We normally fear things that go bump in the night, however nothing paralyzes you like the words “Its Cancer”.

Because of this, I will be standing alone, in the dark in a Haunted House, to help raise awareness of a charity that looks to ensure local patients have the light of support in their darkest hours.

On the 22nd of November I’ll be doing a 24 Hour Lone Vigil at The renowned Haunted location, The Priest's Cottage in Armley, Leeds. It is one of UK's well known locations for high activity of things that go bump in the night!

The Paranormal can be Scary…. But life can be also!
Your support would mean the world to us and could help so many others in a similar situation.

Thank you,
Jamie.
