Help Magna Vitae support Lily Jane Harley's Journey:

3-year-old Lily is the happy, active and affectionate little girl of one of our previous Magna Vitae staff members, Josh, and his partner, Emily. Sadly, Lily's Mummy & Daddy had their worst fears confirmed at the start of this year.
Lily developed a head tilt, began to lose her balance and her speech - therefore, underwent CT and MRI scans. Heartbreakingly, these scans showed that she had a brain tumour. Lily then underwent emergency brain surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital, where the tumour, fortunately, has been removed.
A biopsy confirmed that Lily has a very rare form of cancer called Ependymoma (cancer of the brain and spine). Thankfully, a recent Lumbar Puncture has shown that Lily’s spinal fluids are currently clear. Lily’s oncologist has suggested that Proton Beam Therapy would be the best treatment for her. Unfortunately, there are only two centres in the UK that offer this treatment (London & Manchester), neither of which are currently in a position to provide Lily treatment.
Therefore, arrangements are being made for Lily and her parents to make the journey to Essen, Germany, to access treatment there. Lily’s course of treatment will last for ten weeks.
Here are Meridian Leisure Centre, we are accepting donations and hosting a 24-hour cycle to help fund this brave, cheerful little girl's travel, treatment, and to keep her beloved parents by her side through this difficult time.
