Diana's Art Dream

My name is Diana Mondragon and I am sixteen years old. I am a fan of the arts and a strong believer of higher education. I have lived in the Roseland community, in Santa Rosa, my entire childhood up to my high school years. I am a roadrunner (Roseland Elementary mascot) at heart and will always be running toward my dreams. I have met many great people that helped shape the person that you see to this day, this person that from ten years from now will be different once more. But for now let me just introduce my life and my dreams for the future.

As I mentioned before I have been attending Roseland University Prep and this is my second year at this small high school. We are basically a small box next to a railroad where our parking lot works as our running track. This is a small school in the city of Santa Rosa that values education. 

Thanks to my class AVID ( Advancement Via Individual Determination), a program that I started since middle school in our district. This is a program which helps students be college bound. This program helps us with our skills such as social skills that involves public speaking. We do many activities that involves preparing us with the knowledge of what to do when we are finding ourselves there in the collage of our dreams.  

I am an advocate of education and value the sacrifices that most of our parents go through to give us what they never had. I know that in order to compensate for their sacrifice I have to attend college and not only because of that, but as well because I want a better future for myself. This world is filled with challenges and one of my own challenge is to attend a university. 

Now is the time, I have the opportunity to fullfill my dream and attend Maryland Institute College of Art this Summer. Unfortunately, my parents can't support me financially, so I am asking for donations to attend MICA and continue to broaden my artistic dreams.
