Howdy, all! Cathy Scott here, doing something I never thought I would do, asking for your help, fiancially. I've tried several other avenues and am now asking, you, my friends and family. Most of you will know how difficult this is for me, a lot of prayer brought me to this point.
Most of you know my story, and the journey I have been on for the past six and a half years. For those who do not, I will hit the salient points. I fell at work and had to have rotator cuff repair in March 2010. I had a rare and nasty reaction to the paralytic used in the anaesthesia. I was near death for several days and a three hour operation put me in the hospital and inpatient rehabs for five years. There were many twists and turns on my long road to recovery with more operations and near death episodes. However, with faith, family and friends; I persevered. Unfortunately, I lost one leg in July 2011 and the other in June 2014. Both these amputations were above the knee.
I am out of the hospital now (January 2015) and making great progress with my prosthetics. I am taking my life back bit by bit. As soon as my house is remodeled I will be going home. I think that losing my independence has been the worst part of all that has happened and I am nearly back to being as independent as possible. However, I cannot truly be independent without my own transportation. The vehicle I need will be expensive; this is where y'all come in to the picture.
I know many of you are not financially able to give much, if anything, and I understand. I would ask all of you to share this with your frinds and family, and they with theirs and so on and so on. I'm hoping enough people will be made aware of my need so that I will soon realize true independence after a long and difficult journey, My daughter has been my main source of transportation and has been faithful; however, she is taking a postion in another part of the state and will no longer be available to ferry me about town.
God is good and apparently He is not quite finished with me, as He has gotten me through this difficult time. His will be be done, as always.
I will be ever so very grateful for every donation. Getting my life back has been a hard fought battle, and transportation will be the final piece.
God Bless you all!
