Safe and Secure Housing for Kimma Moonshine
Donation protected
Hey there, Kimma here! I am a young Canadian Afro-indigenous woman living in Los Angeles. Before the pandemic began I was a successful self employed nanny providing childcare for families all over the city. As well as a freelance multimedia artist and fashion designer apprentice. Since March due to the threat of Covid 19 my career has understandably been put on hold. I am ineligible for unemployment and as a result not eligible for the stimulus check either. At the time I thought I had enough in my savings to keep me afloat until work picked back up, but that was under the hopes that I might be able to return to work after a month or two of quarantine.
This pandemic resulted in me losing my housing, I unfortunately had to get rid of a bunch of my belongings, and the little bit of money I had long been saving so I could purchase my first car, which would have allowed me to expand my business, has dwindled.
For my mental health, safety and security I can no longer continue couchsurfing. My emotional well-being is currently at its worst during this pandemic and genocide of my peoples and I just really need time to heal. With your help the funds raised will allow me to maintain safe and stable housing, Provide me a work space where I can continue producing garments which I luckily still make a small income from, Cover the cost of other living expenses like: Food, Toiletries, Healthcare etc. and maybe even start working back towards saving for my first car. But ultimately I just hope to create and maintain a safe space for stability and healing. Sharing or Donating will help me to live beyond just surviving and I am so grateful for either action.
