On June 1st, 2020 Mike “Fluffy “ Lawson went to the emergency room for stomach pain. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis which turned into severe within a day. He went into respiratory distress and put on a ventilator. His bp also became unstable so he was put on 3 bp meds. He had to be transferred to Asheville to a larger hospital hoping to have surgery however he went into kidney failure and put on continuous dialysis. His body wasn’t responding to antibiotics either. They had to put him into a coma state to try and help his body heal. He also developed multi focal pneumonia within a couple days. He fought hard to stay with us but after a week of being on life support on June 11th he went to be with the Lord. He has a beautiful wife, Monica, 3 children- Jonathan (17), Abby (11), and Benjamin (7), and a step-son Christian (23). Monica is in the process of finalizing funeral arrangements. He and Monica have been married for 18 years (known each for 19). He was in EMS for 28 years and a firefighter for 16. He was a husband, father, paramedic, firefighter, and Chaplin
