Hi, my name is Laura. Many of you know us, some may not. Our lives took a dramatic turn about a month ago when we found out that my husband has oral cancer. An alarming statistic shows that 1 in 60 men will develop oral cancer at some stage in their life, for my husband, it was sooner rather than later at 38 years old. He said, "I guess, I'm just lucky." This is not true, and I do not wish this on anyone. No one should have to fight this battle alone.
You can't plan for this, the long nights in the hospital, the sleepless nights of wondering, what if. The laughter that comes out when you are doing everything in your power to stay strong for your kids and not let them see you cry. Answering hard questions from your children, that you never thought you'd have to.
He's a fighter, we will get through this. If you feel led to donate, the funds will help assist us with ongoing medical care, surgery needed, potential for additional treatment, time off work, childcare, etc.
Thank you
