Donation, in Honor of Alex Friedman

Alex was such a huge positive impact on everyone's life he became a part of, and we wanted to make just as big of an impact; in Alex's honor. For me personally, it kills me to know that one of the nicest, funniest, most outgoing guys I have ever met, lived a life making other people happy, yet he couldn't find this happiness for himself.
Mental Health America is the nation's #1 non-profit organization, dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with a mental illness and promoting overall mental health of Americans. MHA promotes Mental Health as a critical part in over all wellness. MHA's services include; prevention services for all, early identification and intervention for those at risk, and integrated care and treatment for those who need it, with recovery as the goal. They believe that mental health conditions should be treated long before they ever reach the most critical points in the disease process.
I can't stop thinking that this organization could have saved one of my best friends' life. I never want this to happen again in my life, and I would never wish this apon anyone else. I know Alex would feel the same way.
We are all upset by his passing and having a little get together in his honor, but it would be nice to say we actually made a real difference, especially in his name.
10,000 dollars might seem like a crazy number, but we wanted to make an impact, as imence as the one Alex made on each of our lives, but I felt like trying to raise Infinity dollars seemed like too much.
