Help Brian Dick w/ Medical Expenses

My name is Jaime Dick. Cory Jones and I are trying to raise money to help my brother, Brian,  with costs for surgery and medical care that he needs. He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and gastroparesis. The gastroparesis diagnosis has now turned out to be false, and they believed it to be a vascular problem. After confirming that his heart and arteries were okay, they are now looking to check his lungs and pancreas in detail. He is in severe pain daily and has lost most quality of life. He is rapidly losing weight and muscle. He is currently down to 108 pounds. Due to his diagnosis, the doctors feel that pain medication could be detrimental in the long term, so he is suffering through all of this.

We have no estimate yet of the total cost needed to do the surgery. We are trying to help cover a potential multi-week stay and surgical intervention for whatever the issue turns out to be. Brian tried to seek financial assistance at a local hospital, but was unable to get it for the type of treatments they were recommending. Brian is currently at KU Medical. The staff is amazing there. I will continue to post updates as we know more. 

We are reaching out to anyone who is able to donate anything. Any amount helps. Due to the pain and constant weight loss, we feel timing is now crucial. Brian has a huge heart, has spent a lifetime taking care of other people, and would never ask for help himself. It is hard to watch him suffer and detoriate due to lack of insurance, so we are reaching out for him. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you so much for anything that is given. I know we all have battles to fight, so it's hard to ask people to donate, but we feel Brian's condition and care has reached a level of urgency and we are trying to do everything we can to help him.  We will be sure to update this page as soon as we hear any more news from the doctor on cost or treatments.
