Help me get a new Hearing Aid!!!
Donation protected
Hello everybody!! My name is Hannah and I am currently a senior college student at ASU and a server at Forest Hill Grill. As some people know and others don’t, I am fully deaf out of my right ear. When I was born, I had a hole in my eardrum that was not able to fully close. I had multiple invasive surgery’s, called a ‘tympanoplasty’, where they tried to fix the hole in my eardrum, but they never worked. I had a few smaller surgeries as well, which overtime caused the bones in my inner ear to “die” as doctors describe it. I now am considered to have a disability called conductive hearing loss, meaning my hearing has deteriorated overtime and I am now fully deaf in my right ear. I got my first hearing aid when I was 15 years old and unfortunately, it is time for a new one involving another super invasive surgery. Some may know, but insurance does NOT cover hearing disabilities or hearing aids (including any surgeries needed for these hearing aids). Yes, they cover cochlear implants; however, I have a very rare type of hearing loss where those do not work for me either. Meaning every cost comes straight from my pocket. As I am approaching my 23rd birthday, I decided to share my story as this is not an easy situation to go through mentally, physically, or financially! Anything given will go directly towards payments for the hearing aid itself, the doctors appointments, and the surgery. I GREATLY appreciate anything and everything and God Bless everyone who is even taking the time to read my story! ❤️
