Hurricane Disaster Relief - Eastwood Cares

On August 26, 2020, one of the most powerful storms in U.S. history touched down in our hometown, Lake Charles. After 140 miles per hour winds, rain, and heavy flooding, our city turned into an aerial wasteland overnight. Those that were able to return from mandatory evacuation now struggle to navigate miles of uprooted trees, twisted metal, and torn roofing. Presently, we are dealing with the struggle of no electricity or running water. Our hearts break as we learn that many of our homes and businesses were completely lost, and disastrous damage was inflicted on our new sanctuary. Many of our families and elders are left with no home and nowhere to go. In response, we are asking for your assistance. As we attempt to rebuild our community, we are organizing relief efforts to support those without power, running water, and basic necessities. With your help, we can provide toiletries, non-perishable food items, blankets, cleaning supplies and necessary housing equipment. We mourn with those who have lost, but we know that with your support, just as we have done before, we will rise again. Thank you for any donation. We are deeply grateful. However, we sincerely cherish your prayers during this season.
