Help rebuild after Harvey
Donation protected
The home of my dear friend's Parents, Dodd and Glynace Eastham, was flooded as a result of the reservoir release after Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area last week. Dodd and his son Hardy, had to be resucued by air boat due to the rising water inside their home .
Their kids were able to get to the house last Saturday by boat. Both of their cars were flodded and Mold had already taken over the home, luckily they were able to retrieve a few personal items that they put on the 2nd floor. When they were leaving the home they were told that no one was allowed to enter back in to the neighborhood until further notice because it had become so hazardous.
They were able to finally survey the damage yesterday and have lost most of everything on the first floor and perhaps some of the second. The structure of the home still has to be evaluated to see where they will go from there.
Dodd and Glynace are both retired and have some health issues that limit their ability to physically remove and repair their home without assistance. The costs to repair their flooded home, appliances, and furnishings will be very high. They did not have flood insurance because their home was not in a flood plain and had never flooded before. The Easthams may not be eligible for any assistance with this catastrophic event.
I know The Eastham Family would appreciate any financial assistance to help them overcome a portion of their loss. Please consider a donation in any amount to help them through the process of recovery. Thank you and please pass this on to any friends who may be interested in helping.
