Dear Family and Friends,

On April 24th, 2021, my mother, Linda Barrientos, had a cancerous tumor removed and she was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. The tumor was removed and after the procedure, a scan revealed that she has more tumors located in her neck area. Since then, she’s been undergoing immunotherapy. We’ve been told that her treatment will be ongoing for 2 years. Due to her surgery, her medical appointments (check ups, PET and CAT scans, etc), medication, and immunotherapy - her medical bills are piling up and our family needs help.

My mother has always opened her heart to her community and gone above and beyond for those she loves. She’s dedicated so much of her life to caring for others and she thoroughly enjoys being a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, and friend. She absolutely loves working as a medical assistant, and there’s not a day that goes by that she doesn’t feel like she’s making a difference in her community.

If you know my mother personally, you know her energy can be infectious. It’s been difficult seeing her have to step away from her hobbies and things she enjoys, because of her condition.

Whatever you can contribute, my family and I will be infinitely grateful.

El 24 de Abril de 2021, a mi madre, Linda Barrientos, le removieron un tumor canceroso y le diagnosticaron cáncer de linfoma no Hodgkin. Despues del procedimiento, un examen reveló que tiene más tumores ubicados en el área del cuello. Desde entonces, ha estado en inmunoterapia. Nos han dicho que su inmunoterapia continuará durante 2 años. Debido a su cirugía, sus citas médicas (chequeos, PET y CAT, etc.), medicamentos y inmunoterapia, los costos médicos se están acumulando y nuestra familia necesita apoyo.

Mi madre siempre ha abierto su corazón a su comunidad y ha ido más allá por sus seres queridos. Ha dedicado gran parte de su vida a cuidar de los demás y disfruta muchísimo ser madre, abuela, hermana, tía, prima, esposa y amiga. Le encanta trabajar como asistente médica y no pasa un día en el que no piensa en hacer una diferencia en su comunidad .

Si conoces a mi madre personalmente, sabrás que su energía puede ser contagiosa. Ha sido difícil verla tener que alejarse de sus pasatiempos y cosas que disfruta debido a su condición.
