Help for Ruby Mae-NICU Preemie
Donation protected
Ruby Mae Snow was born to Melissa (Mama) and Michael (Daddy) on May 9th, 2016 at 28 weeks and 5 days. She weighed only 1 pound and 13 ounces due to absent end diastolic flow through the umbilical cord and pre-eclampsia. I spent 6 days in the hospital trying to keep her in as long as possible while her Daddy took time off of work to care for big sister Piper. The doctor decided on that Monday morning that it just wasn't safe to keep Ruby Mae in any longer and she was delivered via C-section.
She was rushed up to the NICU at Women's Hospital where an amazing team of doctors and nurses have been tending to her. Ruby did well on her first and second days but things changed drastically by Day 3. So far she's been resuscitated twice, placed on antibiotics for an infection in her stomach, diagnosed with PDA-Patent Ductus Ateriosus-a condition involving a blood vessel in her heart that didn't close off properly, and a Grade 3 Intraventricular hemmorrhage (brain bleed). It's been devastating to sit by and watch all of this happen to our sweet baby girl but this tiny angel continues to fight and we have faith that she WILL overcome these obstacles. But we need help right now. We expect these medical bills to be overwhelming and we'll deal with them the best we can. Our main focus is getting Ruby Mae home. Anything helps and is appreciated more than we could ever put into words. Please share this and keep our sweet Ruby Mae in your thoughts in prayers. Thank you all.
