Victor Vanden Oever Family Support Fund
Remembering “One in a Billon,” That’s how Victor was described by one of his dear friends, Joannie - “He’s one in a billion!” she’d often say. We couldn’t agree more. His contagious upbeat personality, quick wit, and continual infusion of “Victor humor” everywhere he went (often with that crazy laugh), endeared the love of everyone he met. A fighter his whole life, Victor fought for the things he cared most about: his loving wife Jennifer, his young son Parker, whom he couldn’t be prouder of, his country, and bringing God’s message of love to the world! Tragically, Victor lost the battle of his life, his battle with Covid-19, on August 16, 2020.
Victor Lynn Vanden Oever was born in Pella, Iowa to loving Christian parents. After Bible school, he served honorably in the United States Navy, fighting for our freedoms with his musical talents as a trumpet player! While still serving, Victor studied business at Columbia College, followed by working on Wall Street. He then worked as a Sales Manager for a Christian Music Label in Nashville, before pursuing his lifelong dream and passion - film.
In that arena, he fought to bring quality faith-based family films to the market. And his hard work paid off. He was instrumental in bringing to the big screen wonderful films such as “Omega Code,” “God’s Not Dead I and II,” “Voiceless,” “War Room,” and “Risen,” to name just a few. Despite his success, life became extremely difficult financially for everyone in the film industry, after the Corona virus pandemic hit earlier this year - theatres shuttered, film production stopped, and hundreds of thousands lost their jobs. What was once a thriving entertainment market had come to a grinding halt - with no end in sight. As a long-term entrepreneur, with its associated ups and downs, Victor maintained his optimism and fought tirelessly to continue to support his family.
But suddenly, Covid-19 hit his entire family at the beginning of August and while his wife and young son survived, Victor was not so fortunate. Despite his valiant fight and believing that he would overcome this horrible disease right up until the end, he left this earth and went to glory on August 16th. His unexpected passing has left many needs yet filled: Medical bills, Memorial bills, Parker’s future, and family retirement. Please join us in helping get this family’s future back on solid financial ground!
