Keep a Trans Woman from being evicted
Donation protected
Hey everyone, my name is Edna. I am a young trans woman that has, as countless others have during this pandemic, found myself in economic turmoil. As my entire household (comprised of queer people as well) has become themselves unemployed and without pay for months on end, rent has obviously fallen to the wayside in favor of paying for our basic human necessities. Our landlord, however, like many others, has chosen to ignore that the pandemic has adversely affected everyone. He is now expecting backpay as well as prompt and timely rent from here on out. How he expects us to do this when the pandemic has terminated our previous occupations and future possibilities, is unfair and seems as though his intention is to push us out of our house. I am attempting to give him as much as I can to satiate his need, but also not be tempted to remove us from the lease. Though, evictions are halted, he is still within his rights to end our month-to-month lease. Please consider helping us remain in our house that has become my home, something I haven’t felt in years. Thank you.
