Tom Hannon’s Family

Tom Hannon was a conductor for the Portland and Western Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer and Trainmen Union. On 8/20/2020, Tom had a stroke while at work. On 8/21/2020 Tom passed away. He is remembered fondly by his union family who want to help his family out by raising money for whatever comes up as a need during this difficult time. A message from Tim’s son; My Name is Kyle Hannon and I am the son of Tom Hannon. Most people think my dad has always been from Salem Oregon but in fact he was born in Taipei Taiwan before moving all around the world with his family. My dad loved to travel and seek new adventures My dad worked hard his entire life to make sure that his family was always taken care of. After many years at Fred Meyer he decided to chase a new career of working on the rail road. He spent the past 14 years at Portland Western and loved every minute of it. He loved his friends he worked with and loved telling family stories from work. I’ve never met anyone in my life that could make friends so easily. Everywhere we went someone knew my dad. When I was 8 we were at Disneyland waiting in line to go on a ride and we heard “TOM!” From the back of the line. It was someone that he knew from his travels, seems like everywhere we went my dad always knew someone. Both my Mother and I are so happy with all the support we have got over the last few days from friends and family we can’t thank you all enough. Lastley Tom Hannon was not just my Father, he was my best friend and even though it feels like my heart has been ripped out I rest easy knowing that I have so many incredible memories to look back on. Thanks for always being there pop!
