RELIEF FUND FOR VULNERABLE FAMILIES IN COLOMBIA

As COVID-19 continues to spread in Colombia, with no healthy end in sight, the efforts to provide families with groceries every two weeks is needed more than ever In an unfortunate turn of events, there is a new wave of violent attacks on civilians, youth and children due to ongoing political tensions post- a peace agreement - that never came to fruition The state of emergency in Colombia is reaching new heights, so in an effort to continue to provide with a bit of peace and relief we are calling the community to donate what they can so we can continue to provide with groceries and ship (nationally/locally-In Colombia) and internationally-from Toronto to Colombia) the following items to families in need: Baby clothes Newborn items Over the counter medicine Flashlights Rubber boots Tarp (some families need to “reinforce” their rooftops Non perishable foods We were able to reach our goal of 6k and in four months we supplied food to over 100 families in places like Sam Basilio de Palenque and Villages in La Guajira https://www.gofundme.com/f/cabildo-cuna-amp-cultura-la-guajira-colombia We focused on families of elders, traditional musicians who never counted as “workers” which unfortunately means they don’t have access or “the right” to a pension But we need more help and in the current political landscape this struggle won’t be over anytime soon so this is officially, phase two of our campaign until we reach our new goal Thank you on behalf of the families we have helped so far, Lido Pimienta L
