Help Rocket Walk Again After Surviving FIP and a Devastating Fall

Just a few weeks ago, we were celebrating a miracle.

Our kitten Rocket, only 7 months old, had just finished his long and difficult fight against FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). After 84 days of daily injections, medications, vet visits, and endless worry, he finally made it through treatment and entered the observation stage. We thought the hardest part of his journey was behind us.

But this morning, everything changed.

Rocket fell from our third-story balcony. We rushed him to the emergency vet immediately, terrified of what we might hear.

After a full exam and ultrasound, the doctors confirmed that Rocket suffered a complex fracture in his right hind leg near the knee. Thankfully, there were no signs of internal bleeding, but he does have bruising and pain from the fall. Because the fracture is complex and located near a joint, he now needs orthopedic surgery from a specialist to repair his leg so he can walk normally again.

He has been transferred to a specialty emergency hospital where they will monitor him closely over the next 24–48 hours for possible lung bruising from the impact before moving forward with surgery.

Rocket has already fought so hard in his short life. He survived FIP when the odds were stacked against him. He is the sweetest, most playful, and affectionate little kitten who loves to snuggle, give kisses, and chase anything that moves. Anyone who has met him knows how special he is.

Unfortunately, after months of FIP treatment, our savings have been completely drained. The emergency care, hospitalization, and orthopedic surgery are expected to cost thousands of dollars, and we simply can’t do it alone.

We are asking for help to give Rocket the chance he deserves — to heal, walk, play, and live the long life he has already fought so hard for.
