Help Support the Lewis Family-Open Heart Surgery!

Blaire and Wyatt Lewis welcomed their sweet baby girl, Brynn, back in September. She was quickly diagnosed with a large ventricular septal defect (VSD) when she was just 6 days old. A VSD is a large hole in between her left and right ventricle in her heart. Brynn’s VSD was allowing blood to mix in her ventricles which was causing too much oxygenated blood to enter into her lungs.

They had hoped the VSD would close on its own, but after a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist in December, it was decided the best course of treatment would be to schedule this little girl for surgery.

She had begun to have difficulty breathing which resulted in her tiring easily. Because of this she was struggling to eat as well which caused her to plateau with weight. Not to mention all the extra work her heart and lungs were putting in were causing more calories to be burned. All in all, her body was starting to show signs of struggle.

Please keep sweet Brynn in your prayers as she goes in for open heart surgery to close this defect on Wednesday, January 24th.

As one can understand, this will be a lengthy recovery for Brynn and taking time off of work to care for her is a must. Please consider donating to help this family focus on nursing their daughter back to health and worry a little less about anything else.
