On Tuesday, May 10th the world lost a loving, kind, funny and caring person. My brother, Scott Wesley Laybourne, left us to return Home to God and join our Dad, who also passed only 3 years ago. His death was very unexpected and has left our family devastated and broken.
Scott has struggled with addiction for most of his adulthood. After going to rehab and being clean for over a year, regrettably Scott relapsed, like most addicts, and that one last time sadly ended his life. Addiction in this area is an epidemic and has tragically struck so many of Scott's friends. Any additional funds will be used to help fight addiction in our area and help ensure no other family will experience our pain.
If you knew Scott, then he loved you unconditionaly. He was always there for his friends and family, making sure they were alright even while fighting his own inner battles. The overwhelming amount of support that we have recieved over the last few days has been amazing. All the memories shared and seeing how many people Scott truly affected has helped us to cope with this devastating loss.
We are planning a vigil for this weekend and a funeral will be held in the coming weeks. More specific details will follow.
Unfortunately, with this being so unexpected our family could really use financial help as well as all the moral support we have already been given. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. The funds will go to covering cost for the funeral, vigil, and other costs associated with these services.
Once again, we thank you all for your continued support and know Scott is extremely proud of how his family, friends and community have come together to support one another. He was truly one of a kind!
