Hello!
Anyone who has met Charlie knows she's 100 pounds of pure love, but she likes to tumble and frolic in the grass like she's a 20 pound lapdog. Recently, while being her carefree self, she tore one of her ACLs and began to limp heavily. Since her leg was weakened, she relied only on the other hind leg, which unfortunately caused that one to tear as well. After speaking to the vet and a specialist we learned this is extremely common in large dogs and accounts for 1 in 3 surgeries for dogs.
As a lover of hikes and trips to the dog park, it's been extremely difficult for her to stay at home to rest and regain her strength after these painful injuries. Charlie is only 2.5 years old and we want to provide the best life for her as possible, which requires surgery on both knees. The surgery has a 95% success rate but is extremely expensive. We had hoped our pet insurance would help us cover this expense, but unfortunately they consider this a pre-existing condition.
If Charlie's cuddles or kisses have ever brought a smile to your face, please consider donating. We are extremely grateful for any help you can provide and will send you an adorable picture of her as a thank you!
Best wishes,
Katie, Garrett, & Charlie
