Vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, Francisco Maravilla had arrived in the morning hoping to have a wonderful time. That night, my brother arrived to his hotel after a day full of activities and went out to the balcony to enjoy the warm humid weather. He was sitting out in the balcony when he fainted from dehydration. He fell off of the balcony 12 ft, off of the second balcony. There was no railing on the balcony, which caused him to fall the from the second story when he collapsed from the heat. When he gained conscious, he found himself in excrutiating back pain and with no feeling down his legs. He tried to get up but his legs did not respond, he started yelling from the excrutiating pain and calling out for help. The last thing he remembers is going out to the balcony.

My name is Nayelli Maravilla and I am his sister. My family and I were hoping to raise money to help us cover the cost of his medical and trasportation bills. These funds will allow us to help decrease the debt that has quickly increased due to these expenses.

The money will be used to cover the costs incurred for the air ambulance, transporting him from Mexico to the United States.  We are at wonderful hospital but we are hundreds of mile away from home. The hospital has also explained that insurance will not be able to cover the transportation from San Diego to Sacramento, our home. Staying in San Diego is costing us hundreds of dollars each night and it is an unfamiliar place which is why we hope to be able to transport him home. The medical expenses will be in the tens of thousands of dollars. 

We need to raise the money as soon as possible and hopefully within the next two weeks. 

My brother is 27 years old has his whole life ahead of him. The doctors are not giving us any hope that he will walk again. They say the damage done to his spinal cord will cause him to never be able to walk again. We have faith that a miracle will occur and he will recover. He is an adventuous young man full of life and hope.
