Baroque on Beaver Music Festival

Baroque on Beaver is a professional music festival that meets each summer on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. The festival presents thirteen concerts in ten days and this summer is our 15th Anniversary season! In past years, we have consistently had to turn away audience members because our venues were so small. We have an opportunity to move into the local school gymnasium this year to provide a venue with lots of space and plenty of light. This will substantially enhance the experience of our audience, however to make the musicians’ work more effective we need to direct and focus the sound towards the audience in a better way. We have received $5,000 in grant money towards the purchase of a set of state-of-the art acoustical panels. These panels will help take some steps to turn the gym into a concert venue, both visually and acoustically, but we still have to make up the difference of $9,000. These panels are portable, adjustable, flexible, and can be used in any venue on the island for future concerts. This could be a real game changer for the Baroque on Beaver festival.
