Help Me Win My Ovarian Cancer Race
Donation protected
One thing I have learned from my battle with cancer is that it is ok to ask for help. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer on Christmas Eve 2015. While my first round of treatments is almost over, the medical bills continue to come in. In addition to conventional chemotherapy, I have pursued many alternative treatments that are not covered by my medical insurance. I am the sole support of my family because my husband has been on disability for close to 15 years. We are still dealing with many medical bills from his severe osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. My cancer diagnosis has thrown a wrench into my attempts to clear up our medical bills. They just keep coming in. We have no savings left and are living from paycheck to paycheck. I've tried refinancing our home to clear up our medical bills but cannot due to the significant amount of student loan debt I took on when I went back to school to become a teacher. I worry about my health and the amount of debt I am leaving my family if my battle with cancer is not successful.
