Support Kenya's Orthodox Christian Community
Donation protected
Kenya's regional Orthodox population are struggling. This fundraiser aims to support members of Kenya's Orthodox population, our brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling under extreme circumstances, faced with minimal food as a result of this virus.Pictured below, with his pupils, is Father Methodius, the director of St Barnabas Orthodox Orphanage and School. An Orthodox mission in Kenya's rural north, St Barnabas serves over 250 orphans and foster children, providing them with an education and two square meals a day.As a result of the nation-wide lockdowns in Kenya, Father Methodius can no longer fulfill his active duty towards only these vulnerable children, but has been forced to redirected the Orphanage's already limited funds towards supporting starving families in his local district. Father Methodius himself has commented that the orphanage's limited resources spread extremely thin, and has even mentioned in the recent weeks that he fears being unable to feed the community he is responsible for looking after. When the funds are available, Father and his small team conduct drop offs of food to vulnerable members of his community, many of whom are elderly or foster children who live in abhorrent conditions.Pictured Below: A food drive undertaken recently. All donations will be immediately sent to Father Methodius' PayPal account, and aid in his humble mission. At Father's request should you wish to donate, please also leave your names, names of relatives or sick, or names of the reposed, to be commemorated by Father.Stay tuned for more details regarding this fundraiser.
