24 Hour Walk for Mental Health

For my birthday this year I’ve decided to push myself physically and mentally in the name of mental health awareness. I’ll be passing on the funds raised to 2 Perth not-for-profits that work in the mental health space (20Talk and Men’s Talk), in the hopes that can use the money to continue helping folks like myself!
 
I found in my toughest times that going for a walk with a friend and having a chat was best for pulling me out of my slump. It would help me open up, move my body and push towards a healthier mental space. In the midst of a walk with my good mate Nathan we raised the question, “if we were to continue walking, how much further could we go?”, the topic quickly stemmed to walking for a whole day. We set off for a 6 hour trot later that week, and in the weeks following I completed a 12 hour (60km) walk myself. The challenge was set and in reach. 24 hours, walking and chatting to *at least* 24 friends over that period about mental health.
 
For my 24th birthday I’m strapping in for a big walk, and I would be incredibly grateful for any financial or on the day support - everyone’s invited for a stroll whenever they like over however long they’re willing!

Starting at Home Coffee Bar, 6AM on Thursday the 18th of November, I'll do an hour loop to Mullaloo beach and back before setting off South and back! You can follow along at my Instagram @Mbethell_ for updates!
